More on Social Security

The way Weird Wally sees it; Bush wants to do away with Social Security so that those of us who are not in the top one percent in the economic class system get less control and money. And, when put in that context, WW can understand where Bush, Cheney and the other neocons are coming from.

After all, if we age and are not alive and feeding the machine owned by the top one percent, what right do we have to live and breathe air?

What does WW wants to say about all of this…

The top 1% don't give a rat's ass about Social Security. Most of them pay absolutely nothing in Social Security taxes because dividends and capital gains aren't subject to it. Even if they pay the maximum in to the system ($12K for 2007), it's a mere drop in the bucket for them.

No, it's the middle class that should be upset about Social Security. It bleeds them dry, to the tune of 12% of their salary, and offers them very little in return. And with tax hikes and/or benefit cuts looming, it's just going to get worse.
